Naturopathic Doctors are required to obtain a degree of pre-medical sciences at a post secondary education institution, followed by a 4-year full-time program at an approved college of Naturopathic Medicine.
Naturopathic training requires more than 4500 hours of classroom teaching and 1500 hours of supervised clinical experience. After which, Naturopathic Doctors must write their licensing exams, (NPLEX) which is the standard examination used by all licensing provinces/states in North America. Continuing Education Credits are then required on an ongoing basis to maintain their registration and good standing with the regulatory board.
